India's Dr. Bimal N. Patel assumes office as Judge of ITLOS

New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) Dr. Bimal N. Patel, an eminent international law jurist, scholar, and institution-builder of global standing, has taken oath as a Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) at the Tribunal's headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. Dr. Patel assumes this eminent international judicial office for a nine-year term commencing on 1 October 2026, marking a significant milestone in a career devoted to international law, law of the sea, ocean governance, maritime security, legal scholarship and public institution-building.
