India summons Pakistan diplomat, lodges strong protest over naval collision

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) India on Wednesday summoned Pakistan's Charge d'Affaires in New Delhi and lodged a strong protest over the "unacceptable and unprofessional conduct" of Pakistani naval units that led to a collision with an Indian Navy vessel in international waters. The Ministry of External Affairs said the incident did not cause any major damage but termed the conduct of the Pakistani naval ship a violation of the 1991 agreement between India and Pakistan governing advance notice of military exercises, manoeuvres and troop movements.
