Delhi records improved air quality in January-September 2026; September AQI lowest in five years

New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) Delhi recorded a sustained improvement in air quality during the first nine months of 2026, with the national capital registering its lowest monthly average Air Quality Index (AQI) for September in the five-year period from 2022 to 2026, according to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). The monthly average AQI for September 2026 stood at 102, compared with 105 in September 2025 and 2024, 108 in 2023 and 104 in 2022.
