ECI suspends 6 officials over supervisory lapses at Agra re-poll stations

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) The Election Commission of India has ordered the immediate suspension of six officials, including three police personnel, over serious supervisory lapses during a re-poll at two polling stations in Uttar Pradesh's Agra Division Teachers' Constituency of the Legislative Council, holding them accountable for failing to ensure effective supervision and maintain proper control at and around the polling stations. In a letter dated October 26 to the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, the Commission said it had examined a report submitted by the Divisional Commissioner, Agra, who is also the Returning Officer for the constituency.…
