FSSAI sets 14-day timeline for regulatory food sample reports under amended lab rules

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has prescribed a 14-day timeline for issuing laboratory reports on regulatory food samples, while laying down timelines and standardised methods for food sample analysis under amended regulations that will come into force on April 1, 2027. The Food Safety and Standards (Laboratory and Sample Analysis) Amendment Regulations, 2026, notified with the previous approval of the Central Government, further amend the 2011 regulations.
