Modern heliport to come up at Kakinada beach: Collector

Kakinada, Oct 29 (UNI) East Godavari Collector Kartikeya Mishra on Monday said that a modern heliport would soon be established at Kakinada Beach under the smart city project, to support Tourism and also to cater to emergency services.
Reviewing the progress of smart city project works at a meeting of the officials here, he said the heliport would cater to the requirements of three choppers initially, with night landing facility.
He said the helicopter services were required for oil exploration work off Kakinada in Bay of Bengal and also for accelerated development of industries in the Special Economic Zone.
