Meghalaya LS polls- sitting MPs struggle to hold on to their seats

Shillong, Apr 16 (UNI) The sitting MPs from Shillong and Tura seats are struggling to retain their seats with electorates' sentiments seemingly against their candidatures and barely three days left to salvage their images before polls are held on April 19.
Campaigning would end within the next 24 hours and Pala is facing a tough electoral battle against political rivals Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh of NPP and Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon of Voice of the People Party (VPP) and Robertjune Kharjahrin of the Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA) - an alliance between the United Democratic Party (UDP) and the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) besides two Independent candidates.
In the Tura parliamentary seat, despite a sustained campaign by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for Agatha, the NPP candidate seems to be losing ground.
