LS polls an election to decide future of country; Shah

Mathura (UP), Apr 20 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that the ongoing Lok Sabha election is an election to decide the future of the country, in which on one side there are corrupt parties and on the other side there is Narendra Modi, who has not made a single allegation of corruption.
During an election rally in support of sitting MP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Hema Malini from Mathura Lok Sabha seat, the Home Minister said that on one hand there is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was born into a poor family, and on the other hand there is Rahul Gandhi, who was born with a silver spoon.
He said, "While Rahul Gandhi celebrates holidays in Thailand, Prime Minister Modi does not celebrate holidays even during Diwali. The public has to decide between these two, and the public has clearly made up its mind to wipe out Congress and SP, he said.
Shah said that this victory march of the lotus flower will continue from Vrindavan to Kashi.
Taking a dig at the friendship between the SP and Congress, he said that in 2017, when the two boys came together in UP, the BJP got a big victory.
He said, "Now, when they have come together once again in 2024, then this time the BJP will win the maximum number of seats in Uttar Pradesh."
The Home Minister said that the SP and Congress put obstacles inthe way of the construction of Ram Temple, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only got the case decided in court but also laid the foundation stone of the temple, and the consecration of Lord Shri Ram was done. "Due to greed for their vote bank, the SP and Congress did not even participate in the consecration program of the temple," he said.
Praising the work of Mathura MP Hema Malini, he said that the party had given her the ticket in 2014 because she was a great world-class artist, but in 2019, she was given the ticket for her excellent work as an MP.
Shah said that her dedication to Mathura is so great that every month she gives a letter to the Government of India for the development of this place. "She is continuously trying to take Mathura to the world stage," he said.
He said that Congress leader Kharge and SP leader Akhilesh say that Kashmir has nothing to do with UP. "They should know that every citizen of the country has something to do with Kashmir," he said.
The Home Minister said that during the 10 years of the rule of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, terrorists used to carry out blasts in India. "In 2014, the public made Modi the Prime Minister, and after that, as soon as the Pakistanis attacked Uri and Pulwama, India entered the Pakistani border, carried out a surgical strike, and eliminated the terrorists," he said.
He said that Prime Minister Modi has made the country safe, and during his tenure, the country's economy has moved from 11th place to fifth place, and in the coming time, India will become the third economy in the world.
Remembering former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, Shah said that the former PM had worked to unite the farmers by securing their land. "Prime Minister Modi has honored Chaudhary Saheb and the farmers by giving him Bharat Ratna," he said.
