Liquor worth Rs 34.32 lakh seized in Sindhudurg, 2 detained

Kolhapur / Sindhudurg, Apr 19 (UNI) The flying squad of State Excise department of Kolhapur division on Friday seized India-made foreign liquor worth Rs 34.32 lakh from a tempo at Oros in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra while illegally being transported from neighbouring Goa and detained two people in this connection.
Acting on a reliable information, the flying squad while patrolling in Oros area in the backdrop of Lok Sabha elections, stopped a tempo on suspicion.
During the search of the vehicle, they found boxes of IMFL. They seized all boxes containing liquor worth Rs 34.32 lakh and tempo, used for transportation, collectively worth Rs 50.49 lakh.
