Landslide affects train services on Koraput-Kirandul Line

Bhubaneswar, July 2 (UNI) Train services on the Koraput-Kirandul line under the Waltair Division were disrupted today due to incessant rains and a landslide between Malliguda and Jarati stations.
Railway officials rushed to the site for assessment, planning, and to ensure early restoration of services.
According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources, heavy earth-moving machinery, manpower, and necessary materials have been mobilized, and restoration work is underway on a war footing.
The train No. 18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express, scheduled to depart from Jagdalpur today, has been cancelled.
Similarly, the train No. 18516 Kirandul–Visakhapatnam Night Express, scheduled to depart from Kirandul today, has also been cancelled, ECoR sources said.
