Kerala reports 6,843 new COVID cases, 7,649 recoveries: Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 25 (UNI) Coronavirus was confirmed in 6,843 persons in Kerala on Sunday even as 7,649 patients have recovered from the disease, Health Minister KK Shailaja said.
The Minister, in a statement, said: "Total 5,694 were cases of infection through contact and the source of infection for 908 was not traceable. There are 82 healthcare workers among those infected."
Meanwhile, 26 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid. The deceased are Vijayamma (59), Zubaida Beevi (68), Krishnankutty (72), Babu (66), Ashokan (60), A R Saleem (60) & Abdul Razzaq (75) from Thiruvananthapuram district; Jayamma (48), Bhaskaran (84), Gopalakrishnan (77), Thankamma (83) & Krishnakumar (58) from Alappuzha district, Alina (24) from Pathanamthitta district; K S Nair (72) from Kottayam district, M K Pappu (87), Rajamma (83), Mariamma Patros (88), K A Subaida (65) & Kumari (62) from Ernakulam district; Alavi (75), Govindan (74), Mary (75), Muhammad (60), Suharbi (45) & Yashoda (65) from Malappuram district, and K Anandan (76) from Kannur district. This takes the Covid-related deaths in the State to 1,332.
