Funds worth Rs 3.20 crore transferred using fake letterhead, signature & voice call in name of MLC Lad

Mumbai, July 2 (UNI) BJP MLC Prasad Lad today informed the Maharashtra Legislative Council that a huge sum of money amounting to Rs 3.20 crore was allegedly transferred by unidentified persons using his forged letterhead, signature and AI (artificial intelligence) generated bogus voice call, raising eyebrows of many.
Giving this information in the upper house, he said that a fund of Rs 3.20 crore was transferred to Beed district from Ratnagiri using a bogus letterhead and signature of Prasad Lad.
The alleged scamsters made an AI generated voice call of Prasad Lad and told officials in Ratnagiri to immediately transfer the funds to Beed. The alleged call was made yesterday evening.
After that, the shocking incident of transfer of funds took place.
When an officer from Ratnagiri became suspicious about this transfer, he spoke to Lad over the phone to confirm about his letter and call. After talking to Lad, this shocking type of fraud came to light.
The names of four suspects have come to light and further investigation is on, Lad added.
