Frequent power disruptions irk Kangra residents

Kangra, Aug 22 (UNI) Kangra temple town and its suburbs have been reeling under frequent power disruptions so much so that the town plunges into darkness for hours together, putting the residents, pilgrims and tourists to a dock.
Kangra town, which falls under subdivision (I) has 18,000 power consumers, also witnessing a heavy rush of pilgrims and tourists who get accommodated in the hotels and the sarais which get their power supply from the 33 KV power station at Gurkhari and has a 7 km line with 80 poles and 4 isolators, dividing the line into four sections.
Expressing his resentment, local resident Manish Kumar told UNI that the town experienced a 13 hour long power supply failure on Tuesday and that this had become a routine now.
