Chennai, Dec 27 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and
former Legislator D Yasodha died here on Sunday
due to health complications.
Ms Yasodha, who was a prominent Dalit leader of
the TNCC, was 74.
Ms Yasodha collapsed during a recent party meeting
and was admitted to a hospital where she died this
morning.
She was elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly from the
Sriperumbudur constituency on four occasions. She
was first elected in 1980 and later won in 1984, 2001
and 2006 elections.
Ms Yasodha had also served as the Vice-President of
the TNCC and as President of Mahila Morcha (Women's
wing) of the TNCC.
She was also one of the trustees of the TNCC Charitable
Trust.
TNCC President K S Alagiri and DMK President M K Stalin
condoled her death.
