Lucknow, Nov 14 (UNI) Election Commission on Thursday announced by-election on December 12 to a vacant Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sabha seat.
Tanzim Fatima, Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha member and wife of Rampur Lok Sabha member Mohammad Azam Khan had resigned from the Upper House after she got elected from the Rampur Assembly seat in the just concluded bypolls.
As the BJP has absolute majority in the state Assembly, there are least chances of elections and the winner could be announced as the last date of withdrawals on December 5.
