Depression likely to cross Ganjam coast tonight; widespread rain forecast across Odisha: CEC

Bhubaneswar, Sep 23 (UNI) The depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to move nearly parallel to the Odisha coast and cross the coast somewhere along Ganjam district during the night of September 23, the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) said in its latest bulletin. According to CEC Director Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, the system is currently experiencing increased wind shear, along with weakening of the associated cloud mass, which may hinder further intensification of the depression into a deep depression.
