Supreme Court remarks trigger BJP demand for Jharkhand DGP's resignation

Ranchi, Oct 9 (UNI) The BJP today demanded the resignation of Jharkhand DGP Tadasha Mishra following the Supreme Court's observations on the state's police chief appointment rules, while the Congress defended her performance. BJP state spokesperson Deendayal Barnwal said Ms Mishra should resign voluntarily or the state government should remove her in view of the Supreme Court proceedings. Barnwal alleged that her appointment did not follow the prescribed procedure and said the state government should act without waiting for a final decision from the court.
