Helen Lepcha Medical College bust, logo unveiled in Sikkim

Gangtok, Sep 18 (UNI) Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur on Friday unveiled the bust of Helen Lepcha and the logo of the Helen Lepcha Government Medical College (HLGMC) at Sokeythang in the presence of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and Health and Family Welfare and Culture Minister G T Dhungel. The Helen Lepcha Government Medical College was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 28, 2026. Describing the occasion as a historic milestone, Chief Minister Tamang said that the college is the first government medical college in the state.
