Calcutta High Court extends protection to Mahua Moitra till January 2027

Kolkata, Oct 1 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court has extended interim protection to Krishnanagar Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, directing that no coercive action be taken against her till January 29, 2027, in connection with a case pending before the court. Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya, while hearing the matter, continued Moitra's interim protection and fixed January 13 as the next date of hearing. The court also extended police security for the MP while she travels to her Lok Sabha constituency till November 30, taking into consideration concerns over her safety.
