Man posing as RTI activist held for extorting Rs 1.35 lakh from Navi Mumbai builder

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) Rabale police have arrested a 47-year-old man for allegedly posing as an RTI activist and extorting Rs 1.35 lakh from a builder by threatening to lodge complaints against his construction projects and implicate him in false criminal cases, officials said. The accused has been identified as Tribhuvan Lalbihari Singh, a resident of Digha. Police said the alleged extortion began in the first week of May 2026, when Singh allegedly targeted the construction sites of complainant Jitendra Pratap Singh in Airoli and Digha.
