Rs 168 crore worth drugs expired in Odisha: CAG

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1 (UNI) Medicines valued at Rs 168 crore expired in Odisha over nearly six years due to poor inventory management and procurement of drugs with shorter shelf-life, including COVID-19 medicines worth over Rs 47 crore that remained largely unused, a CAG audit has found. The findings have come to light from a compliance audit of drug procurement by the Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited (OSMCL) between April 2019 and January 2025.
