Calcutta HC keeps Trinamool faction in control of party funds

Kolkata, Sep 21 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court on Monday declined to alter its earlier order concerning the Trinamool Congress's party funds, despite an interim directive by the Election Commission on the party's name and symbol. Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya observed that the Election Commission had not yet issued a final decision on the dispute. Its latest directive was only an interim arrangement concerning the use of the Trinamool Congress name and symbol for a by-election. The court therefore decided to maintain its earlier order, under which the Mamata Trinamool faction will retain control over the party's funds until January 29.…
