Odisha: Five children injured as generator catches fire during Ganesh immersion

Bhubaneswar, Sep 19 (UNI) Five children suffered serious burn injuries after a diesel-operated generator caught fire during a Ganesh idol immersion procession in Ganjam district's Purushottampur town, police said today. The children were watching the procession at Sitarampur Agraharam Sahi on Friday night, when the generator, mounted on a tractor and reportedly used to power the event, caught fire near a petrol container. The flames quickly spread, injuring the children standing nearby. Locals rescued them and rushed them to the nearby Ayushman Arogya Mandir for preliminary treatment.
