CIFA scientists sensitise farmers on scientific fish production

Bhubaneswar, Sep 16 (UNI) Scientists from the ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA) sensitised farmers in Odisha's Cuttack district on scientific methods of fish production, efficient resource use and diversification of aquaculture, an official statement said. The awareness-cum-input support programme was organised at Nakhara village under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) scheme, with around 265 farmers, including 155 women, participating. The CIFA scientific team, comprising Principal Scientists Chandrakanta Misra and Binod Choudhary, and scientists A S Mahapatra and Rakesh Das, discussed scientific fish production, quality seed, aquaculture diversification, ornamental fish farming and aquarium-based enterprises.
