Jharkhand: Police use lathi-charge during HEC land eviction

Ranchi, Sep 16 (UNI) Tension prevailed near Satellite Chowk of this Jharkhand district on Wednesday as police used lathi-charge after people opposing the removal of alleged encroachments from HEC land pelted stones at the police team. The clash broke out when residents resisted the eviction drive being carried out by the district administration and HEC authorities. Several protesters and police personnel were injured in the incident, while more than six people were detained.
