Mizoram border district steps up vigil on illegal cross-border trade, vehicle transfers

Aizawl, Sep 21 (UNI) The Lawngtlai district administration has called for stricter enforcement against illegal cross-border trade and transportation of goods, including closer scrutiny of vehicles allegedly purchased or operated in the names of non-Indian citizens. Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga directed officials to ensure thorough verification of goods transported from Lawngtlai towards Myanmar and to take appropriate action against violations of the law. He also called for close investigation into cases involving stolen vehicles and illegal sale or transfer of vehicles.
