Manipur Govt releases Rs 5.88 crore festival assistance to displaced persons

Imphal, Nov 8 (UNI) The Manipur Government has released Rs 5.88 crore as special festival assistance to 58,863 eligible internally displaced persons (IDPs) ahead of Diwali and Ningol Chakouba, with each beneficiary receiving Rs 1,000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). According to the Chief Minister's Secretariat, a total of Rs 5,88,63,000 has been released from the State Emergency Fund for the purpose. The financial assistance was disbursed on Sunday to provide support to displaced families during the festive season.
