Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar takes VRS, appointed Chief Information Commissioner

Patna, Sep 27 (UNI) Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar has taken voluntary retirement from the Indian Police Service (IPS) ahead of his scheduled retirement in December 2026. The state government has approved his Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) with immediate effect and appointed him as the Chief Information Commissioner of Bihar. According to a notification issued by the state Home Department, the 1991-batch IPS officer applied for VRS on September 25.
