Kolkata Police overhauls passport verification process, Security Control to supervise

Kolkata, Sep 26 (UNI) Kolkata Police is set to overhaul the old system of passport verification process from October 1 this year by entrusting the matter to its Security Control wing. In a recent order, Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand has notified that from October 1 all passport documents will be verified by the Security Control division. Consequently, individual police stations will no longer be directly responsible for new passport verifications.
