Army's 2 JAT Battalion summits 6,889-m Mt Khangchengyao in North Sikkim

Itanagar, Sept 17 (UNI) A 12-member mountaineering team of the Indian Army's 2 JAT Battalion (Mooltan) has successfully summited Mt Khangchengyao (6,889 metres) in North Sikkim, adding another high-altitude achievement to the battalion's mountaineering record. The team, led by Major Vatti Chandra Kumar, reached the summit at 10:28 am on September 15 and unfurled the National Tricolour and the JAT Regiment Colour. The expedition commenced from Rayang in Arunachal Pradesh on August 17, with the team subsequently undergoing acclimatisation at Lachung, Thangu and Giagoan.
