Dams in Nanded gain from recent heavy rain

Nanded, Sept 8 (UNI) The latest spell of heavy rainfall has brought in cent per cent thousand million cubic feet (TMC) water into Nanded till Saturday.
As per the data available from the irrigation department of the state government, Vishnupuri irrigation project, the largest lift irrigation project in Asia, is filled upto 100 per cent to its capacity with having a stock of 80.79 TMC of water.
The district has in all 107 irrigation projects most of which have got a good stock of water. The average of the projects is 425.47 TMC which is 57.36 percent of their storage capacity. Amongst the two major projects, apart from the Vishnupuri project, the Manar project presently has a stock of 52.93 TMC measuring 38.30 percent.
