Srinagar, Sep 17 (UNI) Curfew-like restrictions were on Monday imposed in downtown Srinagar as a precautionary measure on Monday when separatist called for a general strike against the militant and civilian killings in south Kashmir district of Kulgam recently.
The historic Jamia Masjid, stronghold of hardline Hurriyat Conference (HC), Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq remained closed.
Police said restrictions under section 144 CrPC have been imposed since early this morning as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in entire Nallahmar and areas under Nowhatta police station.
