Child Burnt alive, fire destroys huts at Baddi

Solan, May 24 (UNI) A nine year old child burnt alive while domestic goods, cash and other material completely destroyed in a fire that broke out in make shift huts of migrant labourers near the government Primary School Katha in industrial township Baddi in this distinct, on Thursday.
The devastating fire engulfed over 50 make shift huts of migrant labourers, rendering them homeless. The dead was identified as Suraj (9), son of Raju resident of Bareli in Utter Pradesh.
Preliminary investigations made by the police revealed that fire broke in the forenoon which engulfed the adjoining huts, constructed with poly sheets, after it was fanned by winds. By the time, fire tenders from Baddi Fire Station reached the spot; the fire had destroyed cash and household goods of the labourers, valued at lakhs of rupees including a motor cycle.
