NSE To debut on Metropolitan Stock Exchange on September 24, besides BSE

Mumbai, Sep 23 (UNI) The Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (MSE), which was formerly known as MCX, officially announced in a statement here on Wednesday that it has permitted stocks of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) to trade on the exchange from September 24.
"Trading Members of the exchange are hereby informed that equity shares of NSE shall be admitted for trading on the Capital Market Segment of the exchange under 'Permitted to Trade' category with effect from September 24, 2026," according to the MSE circular issued here on Wednesday, September 23. "The company admitted for dealing under 'Permitted to trade' does not execute the listing agreement with the exchange and therefore does not provide the full disclosures," the MSE circular mentioned.
The NSE stock first debuted on the BSE after its recent initial public offer (IPO). The development came days after NSE MD and CEO Ashish Chauhan clarified that the stock exchange will not seek SEBI approval to trade its shares on its own NSE platform. Presently, SEBI norms do not permit a recognised stock exchange to list its own equity shares on its own platform. Earlier, the NSE had designated the BSE as its stock exchange for listing, with its shares scheduled to debut on BSE on Thursday, following its Rs 22,568.94-crore initial public offering (IPO).
Accordingly, NSE shares are scheduled to list on the BSE on Thursday, September 24, with trading set to begin at 10 am. The NSE IPO received strong demand during its three-day bidding period. The issue was subscribed 5.71 times overall, with investors bidding for about 50.60 crore shares against 8.86 crore shares on offer. Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) led the demand. Their portion was subscribed 12.68 times. The category received bids for around 31.97 crore shares against 2.52 crore shares available.
The non-institutional investor (NII) category was subscribed 6.55 times. NIIs placed bids for about 12.38 crore shares against 1.89 crore shares on offer. The retail portion was subscribed 1.39 times, with bids for around 6.13 crore shares against 4.41 crore shares reserved for the category. The public issue was open for subscription from September 17 to September 21.
