Hyd: Energy efficiency key to meeting rising power demand: Telangana Dy CM Bhatti

Hyderabad, Sept 16 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said energy efficiency was crucial to meeting the state's rising power demand and called for reducing electricity consumption through efficient use of power. Addressing the 25th CII Energy Efficiency Summit-2026 at HICC here, he said the unit of electricity saved through efficient consumption was cheaper than generating an additional unit. "Energy efficiency should not be viewed merely as an environmental protection measure but as a strategy to enhance economic competitiveness," he said.
