Trump's ambitious Golden Dome defence plan faces mounting funding uncertainty

Washington, Oct 6 (UNI) US President Donald Trump's ambitious Golden Dome plan for a national ballistic missile defence shield is facing much uncertainty in regards to funding as much of the programme's fiscal 2027 funding is tied to a reconciliation package which is likely to struggle to pass through Congress. The missile defence programme is estimated by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to cost about $1.2 trillion over 20 years of development and operation.
