US suspends Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Tata, Microsoft and other tech firms from Green Card programme

Washington, Oct 8 (UNI) The Trump administration on Thursday suspended several major technology and IT outsourcing companies from the US government's Permanent Labour Certification Programme (PERM), including Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL and Capgemini, accusing the companies of abusing the system to sponsor foreign workers for permanent residency. Microsoft and Adobe were also barred from sponsoring H-1B workers seeking permanent residency through the programme.
