Meghalaya Congress holds 'Save Democracy' Bike rally against SIR irregularities

Shillong, Oct 8 (UNI) Congress workers in Meghalaya on Thursday held a cross-district "Save Democracy Bike Rally" demanding resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and rollback of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Billed as the "Save Democracy" rally, the riders set off from 7th Mile, Upper Shillong, near the Eastern Air Command headquarters in East Khasi Hills district, travelling through Umsyrphi, Mawlai Pump, Mawlai ISBT, and Lad Umroi before culminating at Bhoirymbong in Ri-Bhoi district.
