Federal judge issues ruling against 'inhumane' standards at ICE detention facility in New York

New York, Sep 26 (UNI) A federal judge has issued a permanent injunction imposing sweeping new standards on an ICE detention facility at New York City, berating its poor conditions and arguing that people held there during the summer of 2025 were subjected to "inhumane and unconstitutional" conditions. US District Judge Lewis A Kaplan issued the 127-page ruling in a class-action case over conditions at ICE's facility at 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan.
