Bangkok, Sep 26 (UNI) Bangkok has been declared a disaster zone after parts of the Thai capital recorded more than 30cm (12 inches) of rain in less than 48 hours, leading to widespread flooding of roads and causing disruption in large parts of the city. Torrential rain began on Thursday and is expected to continue until Sunday, Thailand's Meteorological Department warned. The city's central and eastern parts were among the worst-hit areas, where floodwater blocked roads and brought traffic to a standstill.
