US, Paraguay and regional partners condemn Iranian activity in Western Hemisphere

Washington, Oct 6 (UNI) The United States and nine other countries in the Western Hemisphere on Tuesday condemned what they described as terrorist activity and other malign influence operations by Iran and its proxies in the region, pledging to strengthen cooperation to counter the threat. In a joint statement, the governments of the United States, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago said Iranian and proxy-sponsored activities included lethal plotting, illicit fundraising, political interference and foreign influence operations.
