Carney and Macron to meet in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon on Sunday

Ottawa, Sep 20 (UNI) Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday in the French territory of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, in a symbolic show of unity and close ties between Canada and France. The leaders will hold a working lunch and attend a wreath-laying ceremony at a memorial honouring volunteers of Free France, according to the two governments. Macron is spending the weekend on the archipelago from Sept. 19 to 21 , located about 20 km (12 miles) off the southern coast of Newfoundland, before travelling to New York for the United Nations General Assembly next week.…
