Need to take kirtan tradition to younger generation: Dr Afale

Pune, Sep 16 (UNI) Senior Kirtankar Dr Charudatta Afale was honoured with the 'Kirtan Ratna' award for his contribution to the art of kirtan at a programme held at Patrakar Bhavan here on Wednesday. Pune Festival president Krishnakumar Goel presented the award to Afale. The honour included a memento, Puneri turban, shawl, coconut and bouquet. Kirtan exponent Ramchandra Bhide was present as the chief guest. Pune Festival trustee Mohan Tillu and Nivedita Mehendale were also present.
