Reconsider Pune Grand Tour Cycling event in view of drought: MPCC VP

Pune, Nov 8 (UNI) Former MLA and senior Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Mohan Joshi today urged Pune Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar to reconsider the proposed Pune Grand Tour cycling competition scheduled for January, citing the prevailing drought and water scarcity in the district. In a representation to the Guardian Minister, Joshi questioned the justification for spending hundreds of crores of rupees on the international sporting event when several areas of Pune district are facing drought-like conditions and residents are struggling with basic civic issues.
