Maha Cong chief Sapkal urges govt to provide immediate aid to distressed farmers

Pune, Sep 21 (UNI) Maharashtra Congress president Harshvardhan Sapkal on Monday urged the state government to provide immediate financial assistance to farmers affected by drought-like conditions, saying that crop losses had left farmers in severe distress. Addressing the issue, Sapkal said that crops had withered in several parts of the state due to prolonged dry conditions, while farmers were being forced to plough over damaged crops.
