Sapkal seeks relief package of Rs 1 lakh per hectare for farmers hit by dry spell

Buldhana, Sep 21 (UNI) Maharashtra Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal has called for a compensation package of Rs 1 lakh per hectare and a blanket farm loan waiver for cultivators affected by drought-like conditions in several parts of the state. During a visit to rain-hit agricultural areas in Buldhana district on Sunday, Sapkal alleged that farmers were suffering heavy crop losses due to inadequate rainfall while the government continued to delay relief measures through a series of meetings and reviews.
