Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) Amid growing student concerns and a series of campus tragedies, IIT Bombay has announced wide-ranging reforms to strengthen student welfare, including twin-sharing hostel accommodation, round-the-clock counselling and access to external professional mental health support. The urgent policy overhaul follows the tragic death by suicide of second-year engineering student Sahil Wakode, which ignited massive student protests, intense friction over academic stress, and heightened scrutiny over institutional support systems.
