FDA seizes adulterated food worth Rs 1.36 cr in Maharashtra ahead

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has seized and destroyed around 32,023 kg/litre of adulterated, substandard and unhygienic food products worth Rs 1.36 crore during a statewide crackdown ahead of the festive season, officials said on Monday. The special drive was conducted from September 17 to 20 to prevent the sale of adulterated food and ensure food safety during the upcoming festivals, Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe said in a statement.
