Maha: Over 520 evacuated as floodwaters recede in Gadchiroli

Gadchiroli, Sep 26 (UNI) Around 525 people were evacuated to safer locations in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district after heavy rainfall in neighbouring Chhattisgarh triggered flooding in the Bhamragad area, officials said today. According to reports, the evacuation operation continued from Thursday afternoon until late at night under the supervision of District Collector Avishhyant Panda and Tehsildar Kishor Bagde. Officials said water levels have started receding and the situation in the affected areas is gradually improving.
