Earthquake in Maharashtra: Five mild tremors hit Koyana Dam area

Kolhapur (Satara), Sept 23 (UNI) Koyana irrigation dam in Koynanagar Karad tehsil of Satara district, was hit by five mild earthquakes between midnight and 4 am. The intensity of these earthquakes ranged from 2 to 2.5 on the Richter scale. Since the intensity was low, these tremors were not felt by local residents. According to officials, the first mild tremor hit the Koyna Dam area on Tuesday around 12:30 am. Its magnitude was 2.1 on the Richter scale.
